As an original surface owner I can tell you that this surface is the perfect upgrade , although the chasis stays the same, the 8gb ram and haswell 4th gen processing makes the performance amazing on this tablet hybrid. And the best part almost double battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

In a nutshell, what's the difference between the pro 2 and the pro 3? Also, can any keyboard work with them or must it be specific to the unit?

Basically the difference between the surface pro 2 and 3 are screen size, resolution , and configuration the surface pro 3 ( depending on which model you chose will come with either i3, i5, or i7 processing while the surface pro 2 only comes with i5 so the 3 May be stronger or weaker again depends on the config you buy and as for the key board the keyboards work for all 3 generations if you own a older one
