What's great about it: Picture
What's not so great: Sound & Viewing Angle
Exchanged a Samsung 60" Plasma (PN60F5300AFXZA) for this TV. The Samsung Plasma's picture was superior, but it was unwatchable during the day due to reflection. This Sharp LCD/LED is an acceptable substitute for me. The picture is nice once you spend time calibrating it... out of the box it was a bit horrifying with the motion enhancement cranked up. Get a calibration DVD or pay a professional if you don't want to spend considerable time tweaking all the settings. I am satisfied with the purchase. Blue rays are stunning. Picture is a little cloudy if you watch at too much of an angle. Like most TVs today, the sound leaves something to be desired. Get a speaker system or sound bar. Didn't care about the Smart capability at purchase but have now found that to be a nice bonus.

Samsung PN60F5300AFXZA Plasma HDTV: Enjoy a clear, smooth picture with this Samsung HDTV's 1080p screen that delivers vibrant colors with crystal clarity. This TV automatically adjusts the screen brightness to the level of light in the room, so you get the best picture possible, no matter the time of day.

What's great about it: Image Quality
What's not so great: Reflection
A wonderful screen image, but just beware where you place it. Way too much reflection on the screen for my location so it was returned. If you have a location without bright light sources anywhere in front of the TV to reflect on the screen, then this is an excellent choice. My only issue with Samsung is that it is advertised with - "The clear image technology feature provides anti-reflection for a better viewing experience." I wanted the image quality of a plasma but was fearful of the reflection issue, so Samsung's advertising prompted me to make the online purchase. However, the screen is no more anti-reflective than any other Samsung plasma model. Won't recommend it for this reason, but if your location is suitable, then go for it.

How is the glare?

Just curious how this TV does with glare and if it has a glossy or matte screen. Thanks.
I returned a Samsung Plasma because of glare, due to windows and day time light, and replaced it with this Sharp. Yes, the screen is matte finish and the glare is reduced significantly over that glossy plasma. I have an older Samsung LCD that has a very strong matte finish which shows no glare... this Sharp is somewhere between that and the plasma. I still see a little glare if I concentrate on it, but I don't really notice it during normal viewing. It also helps to turn off the auto dimming feature to keep the picture as bright and vibrant as possible. I have a lot of windows in my living room area and this TV works fine for me.
