What's great about it: Easy assembly and cleanup
What's not so great: Switches are a little tricky
I have terrible allergies in addition to having very long hair, so I bought this Dyson on the basis of its ability to remove hair in addition to dust.
To say that I was horrified the first time I used it is/was an understatement. The levels of dust and other unidentifiable fibers that came up from my carpeting were atrocious. I live in an older apartment complex, so that might have been part of the mess, but I could feel a noticeable difference walking barefoot across my living room upon use of my Dyson.
Another thing that I appreciate about the Dyson is its reusable filters. The book explains that they should be cleaned every 3 months (or for visible notice of dirt), and all that you have to do is rinse it with water and let dry for 24-48 hrs. This definitely cuts down on costs, in addition to my past problem of not being able to buy replacement filters for past vacuums.
However, those of you who live in cold areas must take care in storing your vacuum. While reading the paperwork that came with my vacuum, it said to not store the Dyson in temperatures below 32 degrees. This has been amusing in that my current apartment's closets get so cold during the winter, the vacuum has been sitting in my living room for the time being and will most likely stay there until spring. I don't know what will happen if it is stored in cold temperatures, but I don't want to find out!!!
I would also like to mention that the switch for going from wood flooring to carpeted flooring is a little tricky. Just be patient!
Between the vacuum itself and the (truly) useful tools that comes with it, this vacuum is well worth the investment if you are concerned about health and cleanliness.

What's great about it: Gory, campy fun!
I've loved this groovy series for most of my life! So glad that it's finally received the Blu-ray treatment!

Is the cord retractable and is there a place to store it. Tried putting it back where I first pulled it out, but it was impossible.

The cord on mine is not retractable. With that being said, I am able to wrap it nicely on the 'legs' provided for that purpose.
