What's great about it: Low operating cost.
What's not so great: Not fully dimmable
I bought these lights to use in newly remodeled bathroom.. The light they emit is good.. I bought a 4 light fixture to go above vanity.. I wanted dimmable bulbs, which these are suppose to be.. I tried one in my living room floor lamp and it would only dim somewhat and start to flicker right before turning dimmer switch fully off.. I thought it was just the dimmer switch in the light itself not being of high quality.. I bought a VERY expensive wall switch dimmer that is specifically for CFL and LED lights to use for my 4 light fixture in bathroom.. The lights only dim a little bit NOT fully.. Very disappointed..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can this be used in partially enclosed light fixtures?

I'd like to replace the 40 watt bulbs in the fixture over my bathroom sink. I have been told that some LED bulbs cannot be used in enclosed fixtures because the heat generated negatively affects the bulbs. The glass shades on the fixture are not completely closed, they are tulip shaped. Will this allow sufficient heat dissipation? Thanks for your help.
I would think so as the lights are almost cool to the touch after being on.. I can remove the bulbs while light is on..

Energy used?

there is no mention of what this bulb consumes in engery, just equal to a 40watt bulb output, what is input load.
The box states they use 9 watts for 40 watt equivalent
