What's great about it: Pretty much everything! Small Footprint...
What's not so great: Nothing!
Was able to pick up several stations clearly. And considerable distance from my house (did not even have on roof, but in house on 1st floor!).
I have connected 3 units together to allow for triangulation and was able to pick up stations in all directions, with no signal loss or ghosting! <Not sure why the pic upload was turned sideways by their system!?!>
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Easy to install & worked without any issues
What's not so great: Nothing
I picked this up to install on a client's Notebook to allow her to use her PC around her house. It was an easy install & setup & worked great through out her house, with great signal strength everywhere.
Have used Belkin products for years & they have never let me down!

I don't understand the purpose of this device. Don't I still have to have a wireless router, or does this device serve the same purpose?

This just allows you to add a Wireless Connection to an existing PC, a desktop for instance. Yes, you still would require a Wireless Router for this to connect to, it does not serve the same purpose.
