What's great about it: HOW IT WORKS AND HOW COOL IT KEEPS 1150 SQ. FOOT APARTMENT
What's not so great: NOTHING .. THIS ITEM IS MORE THE PERFECT :>)
With the summer weather getting HOT here in Oregon I wanted to get an air conditioner that would cool the whole apartment down inside. I am on the bottom floor and my son is up on the 3rd floor. Looking all thru the ads for air conditioners I saw this one and it had 5 star rating. I ordered 2 of them and the shipping was free. They got here and we put them in and it gets so cold inside the apartment you are going to need a blanket on !! The air conditioners are more then worth the price they are asking and they run really quiet ... It has a remote control and there are lots of things that you can do with it...... I am really excited and I am telling everybody to get this one .... You will be so happy with this awesome product ... I got some light weight mesh and put over it to keep the leafs and stuff out of it ..
The only thing that I found wrong is that there is NO DRAIN HOLE in the bottom to let the water out. I was rinsing it off and it filled up with water ...... The maintance guy drilled a little hole in the bottom and now it drains perfect ... You would think that they would have one ...
I LOVE THIS ITEM AND WOULD ORDER 10 more if I need them and not be sorry ..... Thank you BEST BUY for the FREE SHIPPING and having such an amazing product to sell .....
I would recommend this to a friend!

You state the width buit what is the height of the unit?

the height of the case?
I went to Lowes and got thick plexi glass and it keeps the unit in the window tighter and it can not be shoved in as easy .. You get what you pay for and its better to prepare for it and do it right. Plexi glass is expensive but it looks just like the window .....

type of electrical plug blades

what is the oreintation of the blades on the plug,both verticlle or one horizontal one vertical
needs 220 voltage ... had our maintence man install it and he figured it out and its in a plug that takes that ... heater, washer, dryer, stove etc .... EASY TO FIGURE OUT ...

The unit is not as wide as my window - does the mounting kit include any kind of baffle to close the opening?

Yes ,,, we put it in the window and had room left over. The brackets keep it up and we screwed it into the side of the window and its more then secure and can not be stolen or taken out until everything is unscrewed properly and taken out.

do you have a 18000 btu air condition thru the wall model

NO ... MINE IS IN THE WINDOW AND FITS GREAT AND IT WAS NOT HARD TO INSTALL.

I CUT THE PLUG ON THE AIRCONDITIONER, NOW WHAT?

I CUT THE PLUG ON AIR CONDITIONER, THINKING I COULD REPLACE IT WITH ONE TO FIT MY OUTLET, I DID NOT READ ON MANUAL "DO NOT CHANGE PLUG", NOW WHAT CAN I DO?
You can NOT cut the plug ... Instructions say so ... It has 220 volt plug needed .... It is in one and runs perfect ...
