Bought a $80 ear force one and it was junk. This headset is made very well and is comfortable. It comes with a mic adapter, or use mic jack on newer controllers. Plug and play.
I would recommend this to a friend!

which xbox one turtle beach headphones should I buy for 14 yr old son?

There are several to choose from. He said wireless. He plays modern warfare.
Unless you go with a very expensive set (not turtle beach), I'd go with the xo 7 (not wireless). I had major issues with the wireless staying connected.
