What's great about it: Detects moisture levels and adjusts time accordinglly, continual tossing to avoid wrinkles
What's not so great: very deep. didn't fit my space well with the exhaust connected
I'm very happy with this dryer. I love the wrinkle-free setting that periodically rolls the load to prevent wrinkles from setting. Even if unused, the dryer has a cold water hookup that will let you steam out wrinkles... great for a quick fix to avoid ironing while taking care of other things. The tub is huge and can easily take a comforter. The cycles are smart and detect the moisture content while running so it adapts to the type/density of the material without overheating or under drying. Some cycles take a while, but I don't mind as all loads have come out without anything damp.

What's great about it: Inexpensive for the features, efficient without the problems of a front-loader, huge
What's not so great: not the fastest
I purchased this in July 2013 and have not regretted it one bit. This thing holds a huge amount of laundry and is very easy to use on multiple settings. I used to be a "throw it all in on cold" guy but now I understand how to match up the clothes with the proper cycles and even adjust them a bit to suit specific needs. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Can you (and if yes, when do you) add additional fabric softner to the load?
Yes you can. There is a reservoir to add fabric softener right next to the tub under the lid. Add it prior to starting the load and the washer will take care of the rest.

Can you use laundry pods?
The little tide, purex & all laundry little pods that aren't liquid or powder? If so do you add them to the bin or right to the washing drum/bin?
The washer is designed to use high efficiency liquid detergent. That doesn't mean you CAN'T use one of those, but I would recommend against it to achieve optimal results.

Is there setting for smaller loads?
One of the great things about this washer is that it adapts to the load size. The initial phase in the wash cycle detects the amount of material in the tub and adds water accordingly. Small loads are no problem at all but can take a disproportionate amount of time compared to larger.

Can you wash bath mats and other water resistant items like plastic mattress covers?
There is a sticker on the washer that says not to wash water resistant items.
