If your going to purchase a streaming player, roku is the best. Most players have a unique ability but roku comes the closest to doing everything. Not being aligned with Google Apple or amazon gives rokue users the most flexibility and no one offers the channel choice of roku

What's great about it: Lots of action
What's not so great: It's not gone with the wind
This movie is about action and special effects. It has a reasonable story line, but buy this one for a carefree Saturday night.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Fast and easy
What's not so great: Cinema now doesn't accept best buy gift cards
I used a best buy gift card to order a cinema now card. I completed my purchase in a few minutes was able both buy and rent movies from the comfort of my favorite chair. The only negative is a best buy gift card won't work with cinema now hence using the card to buy cinema now specific gift card. If bestbuy gift cards start to work directly I will update this review

What's great about it: Plug and play, small size makes it easy to carry
What's not so great: No eject button
If you need a external blu-ray drive for my MacBook,I would recommend this. There were models that cost more but this had great reviews so I purchased it.
INSTALLATION
This was plug and play no software needed. Inserted disc and the controls pop up and the move starts.
OPERATION
The unit itself only has 1 button(open). The default media player controls the unit. I have tried both DVD and Blu-ray and had success with both. Occasionally I've ran into trouble with and old DVD not wanting to play and had a little difficulty ejecting the media from the player. A manual eject button would be the only improvement I would change on this. I have burned DVDs without any problems,but have yet to try to burn a blu-ray.

What's great about it: Easy to setup
What's not so great: Browser
This player does the basics well. Easy setup plays movies good picture connects to network easily. I've been hunting a blu-ray with a open browser this is my latest victim. The Samsung worked well,with all the websites I tried xfinity included. It just kept losing the wifi. A problem common to that unit. This was my next attempt. It maintains connectivity but can't play on lines videos very well. It constantly reads flash player not updated. I suspect it is being blocked from websites not wanting online content on your HDTV. Don't buy this if you want to use the browser.
This product has... Great DVD upconversion, Good connection options, Easy to use controls

Can I stream a movie from a DVD in my computer to the TV with my Roku 3? I would like to avoid having a DVD player.

I am trying to find out if I play a movie on my computer if I can stream that to the TV through the Roku 3 and not have to have any wires to the TV
I'm not sure, roku does let you steam media files from your computer you may have to save it to your computer first or you could connect you computer to you tv directly and view them that way. I use a cloud based service like VUDU to save my UV movies and access them on my roku.

Does this product have a web browser?

I am thinking about purchasing this product to replace my cable but I occasionally watch horse shows via webcasts and would like to do that with this device.
They add channels and functions all the time. But currently I'm not aware of any web browsing capability. Most tvs now have a VGA connector hook your computer to that.

Roku two or three?

Is Roku 3 worth the extra money over Roku 2?
Yes, as new generations of roku come out the older ones become obsolete and are no longer supported. Meaning a older roku will not be able to get all the channels overtime. New channels released May or may not work on older models.

Wired Network Connection

My TV is in a separate room from the computer and router. How can the Roku be set up since there is no cable from the TV to the router? Will I have to purchase a wireless bridge to complete the set up ?
Roku will automatically join your wireless network if it's in range.

number of devices needed

Do I have to buy one of these devices for every tv in the house (ex- 4 TV's need 4 roku devices)
If you want to be able to watch different shows at the same time then yes. you could get a hdmi splitter and send the signal to the other sets but you would be stuck with watching the same show on every set.
