Comparing this to another speaker, this thing has tremendous sound. Range is okay, but not great around block walls, in my case from my garage to my pool, which is only about 5'. If there is no barrier, i.e. through an open window, the signal is strong.
The battery lasts about 6 hours or so on medium volume. Easy to set up and pair.
Reason I dropped it a star is because the last two times I used it, I had previously fully charged it, and the power button wouldn't power the unit on. I then thought well maybe it didn't charge, or it discharged for some reason, so I plugged the power cord back in. The power button then worked, even when I unplugged the power cord. Not sure if it needed a quick shot of juice to realize it had battery power or what.
We'll see...maybe it needs returned for this flaw. Otherwise, the sound is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As for what it is supposed to do, this thing is great. My router is about 60' from my garage, where I had little to no signal. My garage is between my house and my pool. I had NO signal at my pool with my router. Did research on this unit, and there are plenty to choose from that do the same thing. Decided on this one at a really good price. Set up was either my stupidity, or a problem with the website that the unit wants you to link to. I ended up doing it by hardwire from router to the unit. It was recognized. Make sure you follow the set up instructions step by step. Very easy to follow, but very easy to decide to NOT follow. Make sure you follow them.
After initial set up, I took this out to my garage. My phone instantly found the wifi signal and I signed on to it with my current password to access the router. Works like a charm. I get a great signal at my pool.
The only thing that I don't understand, and maybe it's my stupidity, is that when I go to the garage or pool, my phone automatically switches to the extender, which is fine. But when I go back into my house, my phone doesn't automatically reconnect to the router in the house. It keeps the signal from the extender, which is weak once inside my house. Well, not really all that weak, just weaker than my router signal. Not sure if there's a way to have it auto switch from the extender to the main router.
Regardless, this thing is great. I'm able to stream music from my phone to my Bluetooth wireless speaker while using the wifi signal. No data used, only wifi.
Great investment.

Purchased a few of these on sale as gifts for family. I kept one for myself, even though I had just purchased a Bose Color speaker. Comparing them, the Bose is much better sounding but at a much LARGER price. For the money, this is a good sounding speaker. Decent range, battery lasts fairly long, and easy to pair.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does it work with a public WiFi?
At the far end of a public park the WiFi is very weak, useless. Since I have no control of their WiFi, can I use the extender?
You should be able to, as long as they allow you to access the main router so that you can connect this unit to it. The only thing that may not work for you is if the main router is really far, since this unit has a limit on range. Check the specs to see how far it can effectively operate from the main wifi source (which is probably in the park office).

Can I answer calls from the speaker? Does it pair well wil android phones?
Yes, and not sure about Android. I have an iphone.
