What's great about it: Looks, Easy To Install, Quiet, Price!!!
What's not so great: The Remote Control Is Ugly.....
For about a week I've been reading reviews and checking prices for window a/c online and the best deal I found was for this Frigidaire unit. I was a little concerned because of some of the reviews that I read saying that the unit runs loud, is cheaply constructed, and that it didn't cool the room very well. But I took a chance and bought one and I'm glad I did. It on;y took me 10-15 minutes to install and dropped the temp very fast as well. I am so pleased with this unit that I'm gonna buy another one to replace the 13 year old unit in my computer room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does the fan turn off when the compressor does, or keep running?

The fan will turn off with the compressor only when on the energy saver mode.

Why is there no moisture dripping from AC unit (when there is high humidity in air)?

We recently installed new Model #FRA085AT7 unit in small room; high outdoor temp/humidity at this time. Unit seems to be cooling air, but there is no apparent moisture coming from unit, even though it is running 24/7. Is this typical? Where is moisture going? (Unlikely that it is all evaporating, given current temp/humidity)
Window air conditioners have both an inside & an outside blower/fan. The inside is a blower wheel & the outside is called a slinger fan. It's called a slinger fan because it picks up the water that accumulates inside the unit from condensation and "slings" it at the hot condenser making it both air cooled and water cooled condenser. It could be that the reason that you aren't seeing and water drip out is because it's all being slung onto the condenser where it evaporates. I've had units that didn't drip out any water but still worked fine. If you can stand outside close to the unit let it run for 30-60 minutes and then see if you can feel any water misting out from it. If you can feel that then you have your answer, the water is being slung.onto the condenser. Let me know what happens.....

I have water splashing out of the interior vent fan

After a mild rain, i heard noises coming from unit. I looked and saw water splashing out of the interior vent. I cut the unit off and cleaned up the water but after the rain left I started the unit again. I heard the fan spinning thru water at the bottom of the unit. I looked at the unit and the fan in behind and looked sealed away from the exterior. Where is the water coming from and how can i stop this from happening. I have a second unit to install, but if I can't keep water from splashing inside I'll find another unit.

Make sure the unit has pitch away from the window. In other words, make sure the unit is tilting so that the water will drain outside instead of inside. There are small drainage paths that allow for the condensation that is built up on the evaporator to drain outside, you can't see them but they're there. When it rains condensation builds up faster than when it isn't and if the unit is tilting towards the inside or is perfectly level. It could also be that when it rained a lot of water got into the unit and the drainage spots inside that you can't see are clogged. The unit that I just replaced was doing the same thing and I had to take it apart to clean it out so the condensation would drain outside instead of inside on my window sill. Let me know how you make out.
