I returned a Panasonic 60AS63OU which was a disaster for this TV set. Set up for this TV was a breeze. It is not a smart TV but I have a Roku3 and an Xbox and that takes care of that. My only gripe with it was that it doesn't have an optical access for me to connect my soundbar which i had used for the prior TV. Still trying to figure out how to do that so if any body has any ideas i'll be appreciative. So far though it's loud enough for family use, sound is pretty robust..just that i have a new sound bar that's just sitting. It very sturdy, has 3 HDMI, 2 USB ports and your basic AV component ports. Remote is your standard fare. But the pic..especially in HD is astounding. Love IT.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can some with a great picture please tell me what i'm doing wrong. I've tried the calibrations i found on AVSforum and CNET but it's either too dark or looks like scenes from old movies. Please help i really like the sturdiness of the TV and the sound is OK ..but i added a sound bar so that's not an issue. So if anyone with a great picture can share their calibrations with me My other Panasonic a 47" has the best picture and that's why i tried a Panasonic again but so far....me no likey :(
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How difficult or easy is this tv to set up?

Not very savvy with electronics. Can anybody set this tv up?
This TV is very easy to set up. I did it my and I found some calibration specific to the set on AVS forum and on Amazon reviews that helped with perfecting the picture. Hope this helps

Does this TV have an optical cable plug-in? Also, are any of the HDMI ports ARC?

No it doesn't and the HDMI ports are not ARC. I too have a sound bar that I can't connect yet.

does the remote have a qwerty keyboard on the back?

No it doesn't. It just a regular remote with a Netflicks tab on it
