What's great about it: 5dB quieter, 3amps less that the Emerson Quiet Cool
What's not so great: This thing really vibrates, styrofoam insulation lets you hear outside really well and lets in light.
The filter cover on the front rattles a lot. So I took it off. Looks ghetto now but is quieter. Will deal with that though.
Had an old Emerson Quiet Cool that produced 64dB on a non-calibrated sound level ap on my android. The Fridigaire is registering 59. Noticeably quieter to the ear, but more of a low end hum from the compressor. At least it doesn't start up in the middle of the night so loudly that you think something hit the window.
They call them 'window shakers' for a reason. And this unit defines that reason. The whole cabinet REALLY vibrates. I ended up not using the billows and put sticky foam insulation around where the insulated wood panels are (to fill the 1/4" gaps). That helped. Also put foam on the bottom, and in the groove of the upper track and that helped as well.
The internal ducting is styrofoam insulation and it allows some light through. Also lets in sounds from outside. The old emerson had insulated metal and blocked outside noise FAR better.
But hey, I paid $149 at BB on sale, so I cannot complain a lot.
I live in a small 550sf duplex, and will be installing a "split" system next year. It's a rental unit, but I plan on being here for a long time (might even offer to buy the place).
I hear the LG LW6013ER does a pretty good job, but it doesn't allow you to aim the airflow upwards. Probably should have got that unit and just made a gizmo to direct the airflow.
/First time window unit buyer.
/Will never get one with styrofoam internal ducting again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why do I hear the fan moving water during the night while using it?

I only use my A/C during the night to keep the bedroom cool. Unless I am missing something this A/C does not have a drain hole in the bottom so that the water can drain from the unit. While the fan is blowing I can hear the water being pushed around by the fan. I have tipped the A/C in the window as far as I can and still keep it sealed in the window. What can I do to make the unit drain better. The fan is actually blowing the water out of the side vent of the unit.
The water sound you hear is being made by what is called a swisher ring on the edges of the fan blades. It slings a bit of water into the coil to help with efficiency. It's a good thing. Also, make sure your AC has a slight downward angle on the outside so that it does drain properly. Too much water sitting inside leads to rust faster. Mold may accumulate as well.

Can i make a drain hole to allow water to drain from my 6000 btu ac?

I have mine tilted and still have water coming out the side and running back inside.
It has one. If you are looking to get rid of the swishing sound, then that would do the trick. Might void warranty, and it will not be as efficient. The moisture hitting the coils actually helps with the cooling process.

How can I get the air conditioner FRA064AT7's filter?

After I installed the air conditioner I found the light which said filter "reset".
I'm finding still appropriate filter.
I was trying to wash the filter but it didn't work.
Press and hold the Filter Reset button below the filter light. Release after a couple seconds.
