Sound bar or Surround bar??

Are these better than surround sound systems? Some have wireless speakers, some do not. Also, some sound bars have sub woofers others do not. What is the best option??

Will this LG 2.1 Channel Soundbar go with my LG 55LH40 TV?

I have a older model LG HD 55 in. TV & a LG Blu-Ray DVD player. Will this soundbar work with these?
sound bars typically receive digital audio via OPTICAL cable...
if your SOURCE audio is from a cable box, there should be an OPTICAL output...

How to connect to TV?

Is the optical cable the only way to connect to a TV? My Philips 47inch LCD TV does not have an optical port. Guess I'm returning the sound bar back to the store!
Forget the sound bar...your cable box should have digital outputs...

Route that signal to an amplifier and then to your speakers
