Bestbuy website states refresh rate is "120Hz" but it is actually 60hz.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Let's be honest no game is perfect; if you are the few who have not played Destiny or have not played it since House of Wolves then I definitely recommend giving it another try!
I admit the story is pretty poor; however in terms of FPS-RPG this is a very good game. Bungie has made major changes with each expansion and most were for the better; I expect the Taken King to be well received based on the changes they have announced. The fact you can buy the game + all expansions for the price of the base game originally, this is a steal and despite all the hate you see on other reviews most of these people have 100+ hours of gameplay (worth!) or they quit immediately and didn't play it long enough to even understand it. TLDR: Give it a try; it is not the same game from Beta.

What's great about it: Not much, easy to install
What's not so great: Doesnt work with headphones
I like to use some pretty nice headphones and bought this for the added customization of sound (better audio software) -
Installed the sound card and hooked up the included amp directly into the designated ports of the sound card- then plugged my headphones into the 3.5mm jack on the amp. (Of course installed Drivers and included software and restarted system, ensured all drivers were up to date)
Listened to about 30 secs into a song and found the sound was HEAVILY distorted (to a point you cant listen to music) - Read online about people with similar problems and found a person with nearly identical specs to my computer (Asus P8Z77 motherboard being the main) and he described it EXACTLY like my problem.
His solution was to move the chassis sound cable directly into the sound card (it has a spot for this) - I tried this and moved the amp to the front panel inputs instead; problem seemed to be a tad better but for most part still not functional, moved my headphones directly into the front panel instead of amp; works perfectly.
So seems my problem lies with the AMP which was for the most part why I bought it- I didn't notice much difference in the sound quality when I bypassed the amp so I'll take it back and stick with my motherboard sound.

What's great about it: Open-ear design makes for sounds nice and clear- comes with everything you could possibly need for hookup
What's not so great: To say it lacks bass is an understatement, it is non-existent (not too great for music)
Personally I was looking for a gaming headset and this headset was what everyone said was top of the line. I can admit it is very clear and crisp but in short it doesnt work for EVERYTHING.
If you play games where you need to hear detailed sounds like Call of Duty where you need a headset for a tactical advantage- this headset is GREAT for you.
If you play games casually or listen to music while on the computer this headset isn't very impressive.
The bass can't be controlled very much yet this isn't all bad, mixer has 4 preset setting yet 2 are VERY close to each other, 1 sounds like your under water, and last is as close to default as it gets (wont be using any but default)- The bass is still weak on all presets (to clarify heavy bass washes out detailed sounds you look for in competitive gaming) however I typically turn on music and play games or watch TV on Xfinity and unfortunately the sound just isn't much different from much cheaper gaming headsets)
So before you buy a GAMING headset make sure you are buying it for GAMING and not for general computer use like music.

Is the O/S downgradable to WIn 7?
The simple answer is no.
Technically you can install windows 7 OS over ANY computer however the reason why this is not considered viable is because newer hardware components do not have drivers made for Windows 7 and some hardware components may not function or have stability problems. I tried this a few years back with a Vista that I installed XP over and unfortunately the motherboard was built with components only intended for Vista so I had no sound or network drivers as the manufactures did not make Windows XP drivers for the components.

Is this Oculus Rift ready? I find this is the most simliar one to the "XPS 8900 Special Edition" which is Oculus Ready. If so, can the 1TB Hard Drive be updated to 2TB?
The Oculus Rift requires a TON of GPU power to put out the recommended 90 FPS; frankly if you want to invest in the going VR I'd recommend going with a system with 2 GPU (SLI or Crossfire.) If that means modifying the PC yourself or paying someone to build it for you, but I advise either a very powerful card or two GPUs, frankly I prefer the two cards over 1. This is just my opinion.

The listing for what's included does not indicate a remote is part of the package. How does one operate the tv?
It is listed on the specifications page under "feature" - Remote type = standard.

Unlikely that online will have this item available on black friday and store stock is based on store size, traffic and how many Best Buys are in town.

Is the black friday deal on the Samsung tv only available in stores, or can it be ordered online at any point on Thanksgiving day?
Depends on the TV; doorbusters will not be available online for sure and the really good deals will likely be sold out within minutes.
Some products are "locked" so that it may say sold out online but a store might still have it (they do not want to promise a product that can sell at any moment)- I suggest trying to buy it online if it isn't a doorbuster and if it doesn't let you then go down to the store after the mad rush and see if there are any left.

The specs indicate that the TV has a 120hz motion rate yet reviews say that it is a 60hz. can someone explain to me whether its 120hz or 60hz
A lot of TV manufacturers will use "catchy" wording to inflate their refresh rate (it isn't a lie because the refresh rate is actually increased by 2 means; inserting black frames (less popular now) or frame generation where the TV tries to predict the next frames, which creates the notorious sop opera effect.
TLDR: It is a 60hz refresh rate (see the specs page) - it is a 120hz "motion rate" - effectively you care about the refresh rate so it is 60hz.
