And I'm happy with this one (there was another before the B***h and the S*****g - each worked and lived at home for a while, the last only 3+ yrs.). I'm not saying I'm hard to satisfy but; I want what I want when and how I want it. Quiet, clean, stainless and matches all the other LG in the house. I like the controls on top of the door. I like the tub size (my favorite cut-board would fit inside the S*****g but not in the B***h - go figure. The third rack is handy-dandy. 10 yr warranty on the drive, front adjustable rear legs, like the lay-down tines in the dish racks and finally, I can get the mudbug pot in the dishwasher (again, it would the S*****g but not in the B***h). It is a large tub 24" unit that was way easier to instal than the S*****g tall tube. HINT - I adjusted the height up but just low enough that I could still see to press buttons (and read time remaining) with the door closed. It is new but so far, so good!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oven Temperature not matching settng

Is anyone else having issues with the oven temp not getting to the desired settin, i.e I set it for 350, and even though it says it reached that temp, it always takes longer for food to cook than instructions call for. This happens 100% of the time with top oven, which I used he most. I have not tested the lower oven.
Have it checked out if it bothers you a lot. It is possible that 1) there is a defect. If you suspect one, report it quickly. A technician can put a thermocouple in it and see fairly quickly. It is also possible 2) (if you are subconsciously comparing it to an old oven) that the old unit was too hot cooking too fast and this one is right making it feel slow and 3) all cooking times are approximate. So just how far off of "normal" are your cooking times. Nobody knows best but you. More so than time to me is cooking quality, is it even or are there hot/cool spots in many of the dishes you prepare.

What is an electronic ignition?

It is just another method to start the flame. The old style "standing pilot" has now been forced out by greenies and code as it burned a bit if gas all the time, generally in the later designs, by holding the "pilot valve" open. The standing pilot system in a way it is less desirable safety wise - if - if something were to fall like a kitchen towel on the range top (as it applies to a cook top), it might accidently fall in just the right way to start something. Also, gas is being wasted (an immesurable amount yes) and the pilot vale could malfunction letting that tiny bit of gas fill the room (maybe depending on how leaky the room is).

What an electronic ignition is - is an alternate method to light gas to a standing pilot. It either sparks - the pop-pop-pop sound (like a sparkplug in a car) - or - uses a resistive heating element (like the glowplugs in a diesel engine). Perhaps the biggest diference is that electronic ignition is a 'start on demand' system vs an 'at the ready' system like a standing pilot (light).
