What's great about it: Works very weel.
What's not so great: I wish it was small like a wireless mouse receiver.
I moved one of my computers about 80 feet from my router and didn't have a cable long enough to wire it to the router so I bought this one. It works great. I have good internet connection and access to my other computers with it. I wish it was smaller and didn't stick out so far but it works very well. It was a very easy set up... couple of clicks and I was online.
This product has... Fast connection, Reliable connection
About me... Heavy media streamer, Technology guru, Video chatter, good for world of war craft play, i also use vent while playing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I don't understand the purpose of this device. Don't I still have to have a wireless router, or does this device serve the same purpose?

You have to have a wireless router for this to work and an active account with an internet provider. I have Frontier. The device picks up the signal from your wireless router to provide the computer you plug it into with internet service. If you don't have internet service from anyone it won't work.
