I bought this tv because of the price and the fact I prefer tho watch sports on plasma. Plasma unfortunately are a dying breed.
I would highly recommend calibrating your own picture setting starting with the MOVIE mood. Personally I can't watch on DYNAMIC mood as it's way too bright for me.
I've noticed that some people don't like the sound quality. I was taken back by how low it sounded initially. Once I changed the Sound Effect setting to DTS TruSurround it was a lot better.
I did notice a little high pitch whining noise but after I placed the ferrite core on the power cable it went away.
Even though I knew ahead of time this tv only had two hdmi cables it would have been nice to have three or more.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can this TV connect to a laptop via WiDi?

No. No Wi-Fi or internet capabilities.
