If stud is of centered from desired location, can I mount to stud but offset the tv to the side?
The area in which I want to mount an Insignia NS-19E720A12 is very narrow (only 19 inches) and the only stud is on the far right side. Can I mount to the stud and keep the tv backed up (flat)to the wall in its space?
I just measured mine. Flat against the wall the distance from the outer edge of the mount to the centerline of the pivot point that connects to the TV bracket is 11 inches. I think your TV is 18" wide. (divided by 2 = 9" on each side of centerline) So apx 2" of the the mounting bracket will be visible when the TV is flat against the wall. But your TV is only 6lbs. You don't need to mount it to a stud. Just use the included Drywall inserts and you will be fine.
