I needed a modem without a router since I use an Apple Time Capsule for that. This was the only modem only for DSL I found. It was simple to install, works like a charm, has a small footprint and has caused no problems. What else can you ask for in a modem!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Why is my internet light RED?

This is my 2nd Netgear ADSL2 Modem. The first one always had
4 green lights. My new modem only has power & ADSL lights green.
The internet light is always RED and the Ethernet light never comes on. But
I am able to get on the internet. I don't understand it.
Because you are not connected to the internet.

Setup to use with Airport Extreme

Can any tell me how they set up this modem to work with Airport Extreme? If you used bridge mode did you set up internet first on the Netgear? Thanks
First I connected the modem directly to the computer with an ethernet cable. That got me onto the internet hard-wired. I then called up the website in the instructions to enter my username and password for my isp. After that, I could disconnect the hard wire, and it should find your wireless router to connect to.
