What's great about it: Two discrete speakers and 1 sub but feels like full surround
Amazing sound, I was originally expecting different sound modes (movie, game, voice, etc.) but quickly learned that the Bose system doesn't need it. Wether I'm watching a movie, tv, or gaming, the system delivers every time. And if I want to crank up the base, the nob on the back of the sub lets me do so.

Gemstone vs Articulated array speakers

Is any difference in sound quality between the Gemstone and Articulated array speakers? Is the sound from the Cinemate II and Cinemate GS II the same ?

The sound between cinemate II and GS series II are (to me) the same.

Possible upgrade to Cinemate GS ser II

Hi there,
I have a Cinemate Series II and like it a lot. I would like to know if it makes any sense to upgrade to Cinemate GS. The size of the speakers and the universal remote is not of any importance to me. Only the sound quality. Will I notice any difference in sound quality or they sound the same ?

I currently have the smaller speaker and universal remote set-up. My brother has the original one with small remote and slightly larger speakers.

So far as I can tell, they sound the same. Each delivers amazing quality as you well know, but one is not noticeably better than the other.

I would keep your current set-up if the smaller speakers and universal remote don't matter to you, and even if they did, might be better to just buy a stand alone universal remote.

Using with a Xbox One

I have an Xbox One Still in the box. I've heard the system won't play through many sound systems. Will the X Box one play through the Bose CineMate System?
I too have an xbox one and it works seamlessly with the Bose cinemate II system. In fact, the xbox one can actually control the Bose sound level, mute, turn it on/off with the xbox one, all with your voice through kinect 2.0.

So yes, the Bose cinemate II will work great with your Xbox one
