The connections were half static no matter what frequency I tried, even the frequencies the app identified as high quality. Unusable. Sidebar- turns out my rage trigger is constant static, I guess that is a good thing to know about yourself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is there an adapter to plug in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation I devices?

No adapter included in this item. The device is functional with iPhone 6 and 6+ only out of box.
