Can you read the screen in bright sun?

I use my phone on a boat while wearing Polaroid sunglasses. The Casio I have now is impossible to read. Will a Samsung 4 be better?
I had a Droid Razr Maxx and had the same problem. This is not an issue with the Samsung GS4 - I like the screen much better....
