What's great about it: Good performance and features, Great value
What's not so great: Not fully supported by the Google Play store.
Let me start by saying that is not a $200.00 tablet. If you are budget minded get the Insignia 10.1 with the Nvidia quad core processor for about the same price when Best Buy has it on sale. With that said, when I saw this tablet advertised for $80, I was intrigued. Up until this point, $80 would get you any number of off brand "Android"tablets from some discount website with horrible reviews. This tablet is backed by Best Buy and comes with the Geek Squad app preloaded. I think the fact that most of the reviews coming in are around five stars says a lot.
I also have a Tab 2 10.1 and a Nook HD+. The Nook has the fastest processor but the B & N user interface takes away from the full android experience. Also, it only runs 4.0 and it is not fully supported by Google Play. The Insignia is not fully supported either but is running Jelly Bean 4.2 (as is the Tab 2). When I say not fully supported, I mean that for one reason or another there are some apps (very few in relation to the total number available) that I am able to download to my Samsung that are not available for the other two. However, at $80.00 I can overlook that; At $200 I would expect it.
Otherwise this tablet and its specs make its performance on par with the other two. MY TWC app streams shows and college football games with no buffering and searching the internet or running apps is no different than my Tab 2 except for the $ 250.00 difference in price. If you are worried that it is only 8GB, it has an sd slot for expansion. Sound is on par with my HD+. The Tab 2 has front facing speakers so it is a louder, but I have no problem hearing the Insignia.
As with my Tab 2, I downloaded Flash Player which allows me to view so much more content ( the HD+ UI blocks ANY apps not from Nook or Google Play). Believe it or not, all three of these tablets have unique features and qualities making each of them a different experience.
All of this is a long winded way of saying that compared to two other popular and more expensive tablets, you won't find a better value for the price. This is not some cheap children's tablet. It is the real deal and a real value and if you have issues you know that Best Buy will be there. I didn't know i 'needed' a third tablet until I got the Flex 8.
This product is... responsive touch screen, Good sound quality, easy to set up, A nice compact size, Easy to navigate
About me... Budget Conscious, Business Professional, Comfortable with technology, tablet junkie
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this tablet require antivirus protection

Does this tablet require antivirus protection and if so which one is good. Do I get the antivirus from the playstore or just from or local store. thanks
Download the free version of "lookout" from the play store. It will scan all apps already on the tablet and scan any new one as well as run periodic scans.

Has anyone found a case for this 8 inch tablet? If so, where?

Rocket Fish makes one. Fits all brands and says "Case for 8" and 9" Tablets"on the front. Best Buy has them for $30 and it acts as a stand as well so u can read or watch t.v. without having to hold it.
