What's great about it: Sound quality, price
What's not so great: A few nits to pick
I researched sound bars for days before finally picking this one. The experts all seem to agree that this one sounds the best for under $300, and is competitive with sound bars that cost twice as much.
I agree, it definitely sounds great (best sound system I've ever owned by far), as long as you find a good location for the subwoofer. I initially placed my subwoofer such that the fabric covered side was pointing at a flat surface a few inches away. The sound reflected in such a way that it was very easy to tell which sounds were coming from the subwoofer, which was distracting and annoying. I relocated the subwoofer to a more open area on the other side of my TV and now I can't tell where the bass is coming from at all; all sound seems to be coming from the sound bar itself, as it should. So if you're having trouble with directional bass, or deep voices sounding muddy or boomy, this could be your problem.
I do have some minor complaints. One: basically the entire front of the bar is wrapped in fabric, which makes it super inconvenient to pick up without holding at least part of it by the fabric. Two: there's basically no clearance around the port for the power connector, so you have to force the power cable in at a slight angle, which feels like very shoddy design. Three: the remote is very good but it seems like it should have a dedicated Bluetooth button for those of us who switch between TV and Bluetooth inputs frequently. Four: if you pause a movie (sound) for a few minute and then un-pause, the sound fades in over ~2 seconds, which makes it easy to miss some dialogue. Overall these are small complaints and not nearly enough for me to deduct a star from this excellent product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What is the width (length) of the soundbar?

The specs don't give the width of the sound bar - I see in one of the pictures that it is the exact length of a Vizio TV - I'm really looking to determine which Vizio TV model will line up perfectly with this soundbar.
The length of these Vizio soundbars is the first two digits in the model name, so the S4221W is 42 inches long and is a 2.1 setup (i.e., stereo speakers with subwoofer).
