What's great about it: Actual keys - not based on touch sensors
This is a very useful accessory for the Surface 2. It serves as a cover to protect the screen of the Surface 2 and is a full functioning keypad. I hate any keyboard with touch keys. I find that they are not sensitive enough. I also love how this keypad snaps to the tablet using a magnetic latching system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: No viruses and it is FAST!
What's not so great: Metro UI
First of all I love this tablet because Windows RT which is the OS cannot get a virus - at least not yet. It cannot run ANY program downloaded - even a virus! So far it beats my old Toshiba laptop hands down which is not hard to do especially since it came loaded with Windows Vista! I am not a fan of Metro UI and use the old tried and true desktop using an app that comes with Windows RT. The battery life is great! A winner as far as I am concerned.
This product is... responsive touch screen, easy to set up, lightning fast, A nice compact size

Backlit Effects?
Does the type cover backlit feature affect the surface's performance in any way?
None that I am aware of. I purchased this keyboard myself.

Easiest way is to order it online and have it delivered to your local store. That is the way I purchased it.

I'm looking for the cover for the surface with Spanish keyboard, is it possible to find it with BestBuy?

What is the best case for the surface rt and keyboard?
I purchased the Nixon Microsoft Surface Sleeve directly from the Microsoft store online. It was not available at Best Buy in December 2013. It has plenty of room for the tablet and type cover 2. I can even fit the power adapter in the side zipper compartment. It seems very durable and the zippers work great!
