What's great about it: easy to use
The Targus - Dual-Fan Chill Mat - Gray/Black kept my computer from over heating and shutting down.

Is it powered by USB, or do I plug it into the wall?

It is powered by USB that is already attached to the fan. Simply plug it into the USB port on your computer.
