What's great about it: Speed, quality, economical, duplex printing, automatic duplex scanning
I've used HP ink jet printers for over 15 years, but I was about ready to give up on HP because of problems I had with two previous printers.
When researching new printers, I saw some really good reviews on this printer and I was impressed with the specifications, so I decided to give it a try and I am really glad I did. This printer is *fast* and the print quality is very good. I love the built in duplexing! The automatic sheet feeder can even automatically scan two sided originals which is pretty darn neat!
Even though it costs a lot of money to replace all of the print cartridges, the printer is efficient and they last a long time (low cost per page).
I have not tried to print photos (I have a different printer for that), so I can't comment on photo printing.
If you like, this printer also supports web based printing. I was traveling and was viewing something on my phone that I wanted a printed copy of. I pressed print and the printout was waiting for me when I got home. Sure beat having to remember to open the file on my computer and print it out after I got home!

How does the ID copy function work?

I looked through the Help screens, but this feature, advertised prominently on the Best Buy site, is not addressed in the Printer's software help function.
Put your ID on the glass and copy using the ID copy function. It scans the front side and prompts you to flip the ID over. Flip the ID over and continue. It scans the back side and then prints a page with the front side above the back side all on the same sheet of paper!
