What's great about it: Picture quality
What's not so great: Can be difficult to access your network
Spent many hours trying to get this connected to my network. Tried all sorts of different combinations, cables, etc. Very frustrating. Then a Magnolia tech said to log into my router to see if anything looked like it needed to be changed. Great suggestion!! There was a router firmware upgrade available, so after upgrading, the 4K media server immediately connected to my network. The unit seems a little sluggish navigating its menus, but it all works, and the 4K display is breathtaking.

Do you a need a hardware upgrade to replace the hdmi board on your sony 4k tv in order to use this 4k ultra media player and if you do who does it
If you have a 900 series 4k set, yes, you need the upgrade, and a Sony rep does this - free. If you have an 850 series set, the HDMI #4 port is already upgraded.

the videos that were supposed to be preloaded aren't available
spider man and 9 other feature films were supposed to already be loaded on my media player but aren't available. I only have some short clips.
You need to first set up an account at Sonyentertainmentnetwork.com. The 10 movies are free, and they probably are already on your media server, but it seems they cannot be accessed unless you have an account.
