What's great about it: Easy to use and gets my screen on the TV with little work
What's not so great: Needs USB power supply to come with it. OTA updates.
So after reading the few reviews that where up and having a horrible experience with Chromcast, I was ready for a dismal experience. I followed the advice of other reviewers and updated the module...well I think...I was not connected to the TV to see the completion screen. I have hooked it up to a few TVs and connected quickly with a Nexus 7 and another Android phone right out of the box. Apps showed up easily on the screen and I was able to switch between the devices with minimal time delays. It shows the available devices and then which devices already have a connection on your Android device. So life was good. I did watch a video which seemed to work just fine. Also I powered the device with a micro USB cord instead of trying to steal the TVs power. I did experience that when the TV powered the device it seemed to lose communication between the dongle and the TV randomly.
I had read that internet access would not work but I was able to load web pages, stream videos, and download content while sharing my screen on a TV. I love that it does not require a network but allows you to utilize both. It has worked fairly seamlessly to date.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will it work with Kindle Fire Hdx?

Should work great. the Kindle HDX advertises that it can utilize Miracast protocol so their should be no issues.

How to setup Rocketfish miracast for nexus7?

My galaxy s4 phone works out-of-the-box with the Rocketfish, but my Nexus7 2013 tablet will not connect. I need detailed instructions.
Well, the connection method should be fairly similar for both. First make sure your phone is not connected to the Miracast. Next, go to settings, display, display screen(4.4.1) or cast screen(4.4.2) depends on version of Android. It should list the Rocket Fish device. If it listed it under paired devices your phone or something else is connected to it and you have to release the connection. Otherwise select the device and it will say connecting. This may as you likely know take a few seconds to a minute. You should see you screen appear up there. also make sure the Miracast is up to date. Some seem to have issues before the update. Hope this helps.
