What's great about it: vibrant bass

What's not so great: Could have more fine tuning controls

When watching a movie with the family, it produces great sound. When my wife goes to bed and I am watching a movie, she makes me turn the TV down so she can get to sleep. I know that is why you want a subwoofer, but at the same time, it can really rumble the whole house. Wish it had a way to damper the very low frequencies when other don't want to feel the sound.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Do I need to run any cables from my DVD player to the Soundbar?

In addition to the above ? Do I need one or the other but not both HDMI OR Digital Optical Cable connect the soundbbar to the TV?

The soundbar has several inputs. My Samsung TV connects using just a HDMI cable (must be HDMI port 3 on my TV). The soundbar has a bunch of inputs depending on your equipment. I even use the soundbar with my laptop and phone using Bluetooth.
