What's great about it: Easy Set up.
What's not so great: Falls over quite a bit, doesn't effect performance, but it is annoying having to stand it back up overe and over.
This thing was a breeze to set up, not literally of course. It has improved the overall connection in my house.
This product has... Fast connection, Reliable connection, dtf

Belkin - Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender

I have AT&T high speed internet connected to my home computer. I am trying to set up a connection to a desk top that is located approximately 300 feet away but I cannot establish an internet connection. I have installed a WiFi USB adapter but still cannot connect. My question is ....will this range extender work with trying to set up a connection to the desk top?
It could, Do you get a wireless connection if you move the desktop in question closer to the router?

do i have to have internet?

Of course you do. It is impossible to extend something you do not have. This product takes your already existing wireless network and amplifies it to areas with weaker coverage. It does not create internet from nothing.
