What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing
Spent allot of time researching these units on line. Was on the fence about the next lower model with the So So reviews but then I saw and read about this unit with good reviews.
The set up was so easy that I was almost in disbelief. Hooked it up, plugged it in, called my internet provider and it was up and running in under 10 minuts.
WiFi set up was a breeze and the signal is so strong, I no longer need a WiFi Booster for up stairs. This unit really deserves "10" stars!
Thanks to the Geek Squad staff guys for taking the time to go over the units and point me in the right direction, you guys are awesome!
This product has... Fast connection, Dual band, Reliable connection
About me... Heavy media streamer, Business Professional
I would recommend this to a friend!

Iam renting a modem with TimeWarner and want to
purchase this so I can have a modem and wireless router for my new laptop. Will this be compatible?
This NETGEAR modem appears to be a DSL type model.

If you want to replace the modem you are renting, Check with your internet provider to see exactly what type of modem you need. If your current modem is a Cable modem, this will not work.

If you do require a cable modem, check out the Motorola SB6141 as it has great reviews with a very good WiFi feature

Best router for download speed

I am tired of Netflix stopping to download movies. Is this something that a faster router would help cure? I currently have a Verizon 20.10.7 router. No gaming. What do you recommend.

Unfortunately no, I had the same problem and after some research I found it was my internet provider we were using.

The signal and speed was great during the day but at night, too many people we on line and the the speed of the service through cell towers would drop from 7MBPS average at 10am to 0.5MBPS average at night. The 0.5MBPS at night was not enough speed to support running Netflix or Vudu.

I was constantly calling them and they would just say that the tower my service was coming though was experiencing extremely high volumes at night and there was nothing they could do about it.

We ended up dumping the provider and going with Comcast for our home. Their service is much more stable than a provider that stream internet through Cell towers. We now get the same MBPS service at 10pm that we get at 10am with no fluctuations. Hope this helps
