Nothing special about this flash drive. It is very slow and cheap for a reason. Not worth buying even though it is cheap when on sale. For the extra money you can get a better drive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nothing special about this drive. It is a standard performance hard drive for laptops. It is a good replacement if you don't need anything of high performance or speed to get your laptop back in working order.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Junk flash drive. It is very slow to read/write and the design quality is a joke. The housing around connector is made out of plastic instead of the standard metal. It is very flimsy and is already starting to break down despite the fact I haven't used it much. I bought it because it was on sale, but I wouldn't recommend it at any price, unless you are looking for a junk drive to only use a couple times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Good quality as you can expect from sandisk
What's not so great: Cant be used to make a windows install flash drive using microsoft utility
Sandisk has always been my first choice for flash drives. They have always been consistent and get the job done. I bought this particular one in the hopes of using it to make a windows 7 restore drive for my netbook. From what I read online apparently Sandisk block their drives from being made into bootable devices. Not sure if this is true or not, but it won't work with the Microsoft utility. Purely as a storage drive it is great though.
This product has... Reliable, Attractive design/portable
About me... Budget Conscious, Need a simple backup solution
I would recommend this to a friend!

Under the specifications tab it says there is a 2-year limited warranty

Depends on the model number, there are a wide variety of gateway laptops out there that use different hard drive sizes and types.

Why such a short warranty ? Quality has gone down ?

It is a standard performance drive for a desktop, and is sold at a lower price. If you want a higher performance drive with a better warranty i would recommend you check out Western Digital's black series
