730-Lumen, 12W Dimmable BR30 Indoor LED Floodlight Bulb, 65-Watt Equivalent
Light your living room, kitchen or home entertainment room with this Insignia™ NS-LED65BR30 730-lumen, 12W dimmable BR30 indoor LED floodlight bulb that is the equivalent of a 65W incandescent bulb. The instant-on design ensures immediate luminance.
What's great about it: Brightness and color, lack of heat. Instant illumination
What's not so great: Failed in 2-1/2 months
My kitchen has 10 light cans for floodlamps. I replaced eight of them with CFLs a while back, both for energy savings, and also to mitigate the heat issue, as they would toast the top of your head. The other two fixtures I left incandescent, as the doorway and the 'main' countertop required full illumination instantly. I've purchased three LED bulbs, one each from Walmart, one from Home Depot and this one from the Bestbuy store. Taking advantage of sales, I paid roughly $15 for each of them. The Insignia bulb seems to have the best color, and it is a good bit brighter than the others. In fact I think it is the brightest of all three technologies. Plus it has the longest warranty (10 years, limited). I've had them installed about 2-1/2 months. Unfortunately, the bulb started flashing on and off a couple days ago. I took the bulb and the receipt to the store, and the CSR told me that they couldn't help me, I'd have to call Insignia, and she gave me their toll-free number. Well, the Insignia rep told me that was not true. It is a Geek Squad responsibility. I'll find out this evening.
I've indicated I'd recommend the bulb to a friend, because I think it is an isolated issue. I've replaced it with another Insignia, and the 'evaluation' continues.
