What's great about it: Low Cost, High Quality, Easy to use.
What's not so great: It doesn't come pre-programmed with my states winning lottery numbers.
Pairing with: LG G2 cell phone; LG Tone+ HBS730 headphones/mic
Using on: Windows 7 64-bit
I installed the driver / software package from the IOGEAR website, because I didn't build my desktop with a DVD-ROM, given that everything is installed via web or USB now days. All I wanted to do was be able to pair my LG Tone+ HBS730 headset so I could play games and talk VOIP, or be able to listen to music or watch movies late at night when I need to be quiet. Turns out there are a lot more things you can do. I was able to pair my LG G2 cell phone to my computer and be able to send and receive text messages from my computer, as well as play music from my phone through my computer speakers! You can also of course send files to and from your phone as well. Normally I don't like to install random software that comes with devices, I just like to install the basic driver, but the IOGEAR software is very awesome, and comes with some great features. After I installed the software, I rebooted my computer and it was ready to go.
On a side note, I was very pleased with how quickly this device arrived, it only took 3 days even though it claimed it would be a week or so.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can you connect 3 of these 12 ft cables together and run in the wall?

Can you connect 3 of these 12 ft cables together and run in the wall? Trying to connect digital x-ray unit and computer and need 30 ft of cable to run in the wall.
I connected 4 6ft of those once because I wanted to put a camera at my front door, and it worked fine.

I know you need to hire an electrician to mess with electric wires behind your wall so you don't violate any building codes, but I highly doubt a low power USB cable would violate any codes, if you are unsure, or care enough I would just call your local code enforcement office. Usually all they care about stuff that can cause fires, and USB cables can hardly do that, but dont trust me, im from the internet.

is this windows 8 compatible?
Yes, it works on windows 8, and windows 8.1. google "IOGEAR drivers" and click the link that has iogear.com in it, or click here if it lets me post links http://www.iogear.com/support/dm/

enter the model number of the product (GBU521) and download the package for your version of windows.
