This machine is almost perfect for my needs. But I should have taken the known deficiency with its Wi-Fi adapter more seriously. It can be spotty and unreliable. Need to constantly reboot to get connection. Very disappointing considering a Wi-Fi adapter is such a basic component that the 10yr old Dell laptop I just brought to recycling was better at staying connected to the internet. Proceed with caution on the Lenovo U430.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: GPS, hd radio, style, price, blue-tooth
What's not so great: iPhone 5/5s compatibility falls short
Had this unit installed a couple of weeks. Excellent service from installers at Paramus BB. Explained before and after changes to my car post-installation. Almost everything is great but the compatibility to the iPhone 5. Needed an HDMI cable, KCA IP103 cable and an Apple Lightning Digital AV adapter. After all this you can't use the screen to control the iPhone. Unless you like to watch videos while in the car (who really does that) the only useful thing for this comprehensive/expensive iPhone set up is as a charger. Considering blue-tooth provides more functionality save your money and do not bother with the hdmi, ip103 and av adapter set up. Buy a $1 usb adapter to charge your phone with the cigarette lighter and use blue tooth. Considering Kenwood advertises on the box that this unit is iPhone ready this was a real buzz kill.

What is the wifi connection like?

I am thinking about getting one and want to know about the Internet connection.
The Wi-Fi connection is the only disappointing aspect of this laptop. Unfortunately Lenovo does not have a driver update or solution. They instruct you to turn off the bluetooth fuctionality. You will constantly have to reboot to get connection.
