Works for charging and audio playback. Some others do not. Great product for Apple accessories that are older without the Lightning port. Only downside is that is wasn't sturdy on my ihome with an iPhone 6. This isn't a fault with the product it's just the way it is with a small thin connector like the Lightning port holding up an iPhone on an ihome speaker.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great storage device from a reliable brand. Simple USB connection. I use this with an Xbox and it works great. Only issue was that when the drive goes into standby or sleep mode there is a bright white led light that flashes every 5-7 seconds or so. This tells you that it is indeed in sleep mode and it isn't running but the light can be annoying at times. Other than that I would recommend to anyone in need of additional storage space.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Windows & Chrome Compatability???
I was told by the Best Buy salesman that this drive would be compatible with both Windows and Chrome. I saved my photos from my Toshiba laptop (Windows) onto the Passport drive, but when I plug it into my Chromebook, it says I cannot open the files because they're Windows format. Any suggestions? Any idea what App I would need on my Chromebook to open the Windows file?
Perhaps the salesman meant that it can be used with either one but not both at the same time or together. If you save things in windows format and then try to open it on a different operating system such as chrome or with something that doesn't support windows format then chances are it wouldn't work. As far as an app to use, possibly a windows app that is meant for whatever you want to open. So if it's photos then perhaps an app by windows for photos. Hope this helps.
