I have 2 Beltronic Detectors and decided to upgrade to this one when I found out that it was on sale. It has some nice upgrades to my older detectors like showing your speed on the unit when it warns you, and the fixed camera warning with countdown/distance to location has already saved my wallet from a fixed fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do you have to use your phone to get red light camera & etc? If you do it will use my data?

Any fixed site locations should be already uploaded, and you can update the unit from the manufacturer website

Can you wire this up without connecting it to lighter port and have it wired by car battery so the cord isn't hanging out?

I have a passport 9500. I need new suction cups as the old ones will have worn out and not hold the pass port to the windshield. Thanks, John Bergquist
