I purchased this microwave back in November. The original one was defective and Best Buy sent me a replacement. First let me say that because this is a 1200 Watt microwave it cannot be run using a surge protector as it will keep shutting off. I did the correct thing and had a separate circuit installed to handle just the microwave because my house had too many things running on the same circuit and I couldn't run the microwave with the toaster, or any other appliance without making the circuit breaker in my basement shut off. So this was my Christmas present if you will to me...I bought this powerful microwave because I figured it would cook about anything faster than previous microwaves I've owned (and it does) and getting a new independent circuit installed in the kitchen which I had been wanting since we moved into our house 10 years ago. I have owned this microwave for about 6 months now and I have no complaints, It works just great! I love the different cycles it has and the automatic senser. It even has an automatic express defrost for a 1 lb. package of frozen hamburger. It's a little noisier at times when cooking but then this big boy has lots of power to cook with so it's nothing too unruly. The defective one made way too much noise. We could hear it rumbling through the wall it was so loud. This one is way quiter by comparison. This one seems to work perfectly in every way and I expect that it will last me for quite some time. We are not real hard on our appliances so they usually last a reasonable amount of time. I wanted to do a review of this microwave after owning it for a while as most reviews are done right after buying an item and you never have any real idea if it's really going to hold up with daily use long after the purchase. So many appliances these days seem to quit or go haywire after a short period of time. LG is a good brand name. I have owned other items made by them. I expect this will be another good one.

Loving my new HP Windows 10 Laptop

This is the 2nd HP Laptop I have purchased in the last couple years. The other one has Windows 8. This was inexpensive so I thought why not buy another laptop with Windows 10. I can worry about upgrading the Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 or better yet Windows 10 later on. This has a different processor but still seems plenty fast enough. It was cool how while I was setting it up it automatically loaded my desktop screen, my favorites, and a lot of other stuff before I was completely set up. It was easy to follow the set up instructions and get going right out of the box. The speed is good, the colors and clarity and crispness of the screen is good. So far I have not noticed the case being easy to scratch or that the whole case bent like I saw in some reviews. The keys are quiet unlike another review I read. I think the negative comments are coming from gamers and most of those folks are never satisfied with a computer right out of the box without any upgrading or tweaking. It was a little tricky getting my MS Office 365 going at first but then I realized I needed to go to the home version to download and install on the new laptop. I just received this yesterday but no matter, I'm pretty happy with it. It will work very well for my purposes which is using Facebook and emails mostly plus I use Word in Office to write fanfiction stories which get posted on one of the fanfiction websites. I imagine I will also play an occasional game or two...my favorites being Bejeweled 3, Bejeweled Twist, and Mahjong. This is a really nice computer and much cheaper cost than my first one. It's a nice addition to my home network and I always have a computer or two in reserve and to have the up to date software and APPS installed. I like how this laptop is much lighter weight than my other laptop and it's got a nice slim profile. I expect I will be buying another HP laptop for my husband. It didn't take long at all for him to tell me he wanted one of these too. These will be our Christmas presents to each other.

I've had the MS Office 365 since I purchased my first laptop, an HP Pavilion g7 Notebook going on 2 years ago. I like being able to have the option to install on up to 5 computers, or combination of PC"S, notebooks, tablets, etc. I can save my documents, pictures, you name it on the MS Onedrive cloud so that it's not taking up space on my hard drive so it's always backed up and doesn't slow down my computer speed. I never could afford the MS Office Suite software but this is a great option and it has everything and more than what I usually use. I like that I have the option of paying annually or paying monthly. I use mostly Word to write stories. I gave it a 4 only because some of the menu's are really different for Windows 8 and I got way used to Windows 7 and earlier versions. There is no option to select all when you are copying a document and it's a hassle to hold down and scroll the mouse to copy larger documents. Other than that it's great. If you don't already have this for your computer I really do recommend it.

I bought two of these Blu-ray players last February. They have been working pretty much trouble free. I was playing a DVD then went to play one of my Blu-ray discs that I play quite often and now all of a sudden it doesn't want to play any Blu-ray discs. I'm getting a message saying the disc in not compatible. The player has sat in the same spot on the same shelf, I have not moved it around or anything. Tried unplugging and plugging it back in and still won't play a Blu-ray disc. I'm getting really tired of having to constantly replace these Blu-ray players. Even the DVD players seems to only last so long. I've also been careful to make sure I shut it off so the DVD or Blu-ray disc isn't still spinning when ejecting as that causes extra wear. Can't anyone make a decent product that lasts longer than a year or so? I was recommending these players to friends but obviously I won't be anymore. Also checked the owners manual. Funny it only references that it won't play PAL discs...like duh!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What is the min. height that you can install this above the range
I need to know the min. height above the range to install
I would say you need to contact LG and ask them that question. Looking at the install directions for set up it clearly states the minimum amount of space required around the sides, back, and top of the microwave. I do not think this particular microwave is suited for that type of install. I think to install a microwave above a stove you need to buy a unit that is made to be installed above stoves in confined spaces. You want to be sure that you are not creating a fire hazard by not having suitable ventilation around the unit.

how come the control pad buttons quit working when you unplug it and plug it back in it still dont workk
I see this question was submitted a really long time ago so I don't know if the unit was still under warranty. If the control pads don't work then they are defective and the only option I know of is to replace the microwave with another. That was why I wound up buying my new LG microwave in November because the microwave I had owned for a few years the control sensor pad quit working and I was told that was my only option at that point.

Is it normal for the door to not be flush (OCD help!)
The right side of my door especially on the top seems to have a more than desired gap. I can prob push it in roughly 2 millimeters. It may be my ocd, but I need to make sure if this is normal, or not normal.

That doesn't sound normal to me. I would contact the manufacturer about it. They can tell you for sure. I would think with a microwave it is important not to have any gaps when it is in operation.

In order to play the international DVD's you need a PAL player. The US players are a different system and won't play them.

I have recently found with my cable provider that for a lot of the shows if you want to be able to record, they are broadcasting some of the networks with a protect signal so not only will you need a DVD recorder you will also need to have a DVR to record the program then record to DVD from the DVR. Life used to be so much simpler before the cable providers and everyone else got so greedy...we can thank deregulation for a lot of this stuff now. In short though, you need to make sure you are buying a DVD recorder and not just a player. Another option is a DVD recorder w/VHS recorder combination. Then you can make copies of non-commercially recorded VHS tapes. You won't be able to record any movies you purchased on VHS as they have the protection signal embedded so you can't make a copy of it. Toshiba makes a decent recorder.
