can it be used for text and data access in Europe?
I am considering purchasing a prepid phone for an upcoming trip to Europe and would need it for texting and for data access / directions. I am not currently a TMobile user.
So what is your question? You said you were NOT a T Mobile customer, and since I have been with Virgin Mobile no-contract service for over 10 years, my review is going to lean towards them and the Sprint Network that Virgin uses. You need to go to Best Buy and ask the following.
1) I need a phone I can use in X country w/o a ridiculous out of country service fee.
2) I don't want a contract.
3) If you already have a nice phone and service, ask for an inexpensive phone to take overseas that will work. If you have an Apple 6s, it is a prime target for theft. Even in 'safe' countries.
I bought an HTC Volt Android phone for $39.99 and it worked perfect in Aruba. The bill was the same as usual ($35 unlimited) except for a $10 overseas connection fee plus taxes that country charges for using their cell towers. It was $3, I gave the phone to my 12 year old for her birthday after the trip. Everyone wins. -Chris
