After being unsatisfied with the picture quality from a set priced about $2K less from another vendor, we decided to take the plunge because what we saw in the stores was just incredible.
As advertised, the picture was AMAZING in our living room. What I did not expect was how thin it was (which was actually the reason we bought the other vendor's product initially). What a nice surprise.
Unfortunately, a week later, the HDMI 1 input went dead on us for no reason. The others worked fine but then we tried a 3D movie for the first time and there was severe ghosting/cross-talk. We made the hard decision to dismount and return. Fortunately, they had another 65" in stock so we took it home and discovered at home that the box was punctured (forklift?). We hoped that the set wasn't damaged but that was not the case as we unwrapped. The panel was grotesquely bent and it looked like such a waste.
We took it back the first thing the next morning and picked up another a day later. Nothing but PERFECTION since. Everyone who sees the picture (even just regular 1080p/i sources) exclaims how incredible the picture looks. Blu-Rays just look unfair. I am not sure what I should be seeing for HDR as I don't notice a difference when streaming HDR movies but there is more to come there I am sure. Either way, very happy camper here.
I would recommend this to a friend!

what is the refresh rate on this tv i am considering getting this tv and i want to know how fast moving sports will look on this tv

I was worried about that as well but you know what, I ceased to worry about those specs after I watched my first basketball game on it. It is beautiful and the bottleneck is more likely to be our cable boxes.

I have read that OLED tech has life-expectancy problems. Any comment?

With the great numbers put up by other TV technologies and given the very high relative cost of OLED, it will be crucial to decision making to have some idea how long this set will perform.
Check out the math for your watching habits but even if that is the case (as detractors have circulated in online forums). You are talking 8 - 10 years at high consumption rates.
We are bringing up an issue that will probably never be one.

Why couldn't I mount this television to industry standard mount?

Geek Squad had to return this television to inventory. It can only be mounted to a wall using the LG OLED mount. Studs have to be positioned perfectly in order to position this television in a specific place. I would have had to position the television in a very undesirable place to mount it. Seems very short-sighted of LG not to have a way to modify the wall mounting of this wonderful television.
Not sure if this is a questions but many of these ultra-thin TVs (Sony for one) come with their own proprietary mount as they are not deep enough for the top screws on traditional mounts. This thing is thinner than my cell phone at the top!
We used Drywall Anchor/Bolts and it is a VERY sturdy mount and the mount enables the TV to be pulled out, rotated, angled very easily.

How do I install the included wall-mount on 16" wall studs?

Forget the studs and use drywall anchors/bolts (assuming you have drywall). Plenty strong enough to hold this set and it is not as heavy as Plasmas of old. Very sturdy mount.
