I found my search for the perfect smartwatch for my needs to be exhausting because there's up and downs for everything. i found the moto to be a great smart watch because it has a sleek design, customizable wristbands and the android wear OS is a highly supported interface that works with more android software than I even thought it would. Once you start using this device you realize that you look at your phone less and unless you have a complex conversation you will use this watch.
It is a great music player as a standalone, as well as controlling your phone from afar (saves battery this way). battery life has improved with the newest rolled out lollipop update, and the battery lasts me for a solid 15 hours with normal use.. meaning i respond to texts.. get alerts all day with the vibration on.
Obviously the down side to this watch is the lack of built in speakerphone, so you can't take phone calls directly on it. However, you can dial and answer your phone remotely, so if you place ur phone on a cradle near you but you don't want to reach over.. you can make it much easier this way.
Other down side is that the voice function isn't perfect.. but is very good.. and you only have a couple seconds to catch a typo in your email or text replies before it gets sent.. which could make some EMBARRASSING ones go through at times. I like the find my car app, and the turn by turn directions on my wrist.. makes driving and navigating without carrying my big phone in my hand. the vibration alert is hard to miss so you never have to worry about missing out on phone calls, emails, texts, and other alerts on your phone.
I love this device and wouldn't go back now that I've bought into the smart watches.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How long is the watch band in inches or mm? Will it fit someone with a large wrist?

i think this watch fits virtually anyone. its a standard size band.

Moto 360 and app MapMyRide

Anyone knows if both work together?
not sure.;. but you could check google play and go to the application and see the screen shots. and also email the develoiper.. many of the unlisted apps still show alerts on the smartwatch.
