I've used Bose earbuds for years and switched to the JBLs when I wanted a wireless setup for iPhone 7. My wife bought the Bose wireless ear buds and I didn't like how big they are, so I was happy to find these with a more compact design and I liked the reflective band as well. Unfortunately the sound is terrible. Absolutely no bass at all. Overall the sound is about 1/10th as good as the Bose wireless. It's like sticking a tweeter in your ear. Returning promptly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: The picture, the sound, the looks.
What's not so great: Lack of content, no 4k Netflix, glossy screen.
I just bought this after spending an extended amount of time with it in the store. For $2999 (model with speakers, the one without was $2799), I just had to jump on it. So the bad new first. This model can't stream 4k netflix and neither can the current media player (round). You can preorder the new media player (square) but there is no date out there when it will ship. Best buy guy said late June. Web seems to think late July. I just didn't want to wait. Plus I found the current player on amazon for $375 vs 499 to preorder the new one. Basically it's an awkward point in time where it's in between media players and best buy doesn't have the current one anymore. The other negative is this screen is pretty glossy compared to other LCDs. Not as bad as plasma but if you have a bright room this one could be a problem. If you have a lot of windows in the room I would lean toward the samsung 4k models instead of these Sonys. We bought some blackout curtains coincidentally right before I went tv shopping so hopefully it works out. On to the good stuff, you can't beat the picture quality, contrast, uniformity, etc... It's a step above the rest. Just a great picture that doesn't look washed out or overly bright like some of the Samsungs. And the built in speakers really sound GOOD. I was surprised. I'm excited to run a cleaner looking setup without addl audio equipment. Also the thing is good looking. The stand looks like brushed aluminum in the pics buts it's chrome in person. Very handsome.

is this an auto ON/OFF subwoofer
Yes, it hooks directly to the TV and comes on/goes off with the TV and is only compatible with a couple of Sony TV models, so double check compatibility as well before purchasing.

Sony - 7-7/8" 100W Wireless Powered Subwoofer - Black
Help bring your games, movies and music to life with this Sony SWFBR100/B 7-7/8" subwoofer that features 100W peak power to deliver a pounding bass response. Wireless connectivity lets you place it in a convenient location.
Will this connect to the subwoofer output of my sony receiver?
Probably not. The connection is a USB stick and headphone jack plug and the only connection to the actual subwoofer is the power cord. This model is meant for only a couple different TV models specifically.
