What's great about it: Price, weight, appearance
What's not so great: Offset key board, mouse and screen make unexpected moves
Apparently, Acer moved the keyboard to the left in order to make room for the numeric keyboard. I have to keep this in mind when typing if you touch type (without looking), you will make frequent mistakes. Also, the screen will move up or down without touching the keyboard, a problem when you are trying to click on a certain item and then you get the advertisement instead. I had purchased the ASUS previously, really nice in appearance, but had a lot of issues with problems apparently caused by the Windows 8.1 upgrade (like the network driver had to be rolled back and it frequently disconnected and would not recognize my network). So the Acer does at least recognize the network (I have a high end wireless router so it should not be an issue).
On the plus side, it has a nice appearance, it's light (I have difficultly with heavier items due to disabilities. The WIDI function works great, it requires a purchase of a receiving device and it allows you to watch anything from your computer on your TV set wirelessly. The PC does multitasking fairly well, I'm backing up my computer while I'm typing this. The WIFI functionality works pretty good. I did notice when reviewing my dialog that many of my punctuations and even a couple of words were replaced with the "#" sign, that's a bit odd. I'm hoping that is this dialog box and not an error of this computer! As I am using this computer to fill in this box, I am noticing more problems with the keyboard, well, I just bought it, so I have about 11 days left to make sure I will keep it. Hopefully, it will be a keeper.

I purchased this PC in Greensboro NC and would like to add that the person that sold me the PC #rang it up on the register# was very nice, but the individual that was "helping" me before him was rather rude. When I asked him about WIDI he said he had never heard of it. I went to the BestBuy.com site from the display computers and showed it to him. He started fiddling with the connection of the PC to the Kiosk and unplugged the PC from the Kiosk which sounded a very loud alarm, and of course disconnected it from the Internet, he then ran off to get the key. So then, I'm standing there with this alarm blasting away. He finally returned and cut off the alarm but did not offer any more assistance. He said none of the computers supported WIDI and left. Usually Best Buy associates are helpful, but this one was not.
During my second review of text, noticed more "#" signs, I'll remove them once more, but if they come back, I will not fix them!
This product is... Good sound quality, A nice compact size, easy to set up

what external cd/dvd drive is recommended for an acer aspire m?
I have an acer aspire m that was purchased back in 08/2013 and needing an external cd/dvd drive. What is recommended? I need it to be portable
I have several external drives, any drive with a USB connection should work.
