They sound great. The MDR-1RBT headphone are a bit better, but cost more. The MDR-10RBT phones are a good value.

These are similar to the Sony MDR-10RBT, the MDR1RBT's have an equalizer ,extended frequency response, longer battery life, more comfortable. I will review the MDR-10's soon, also great headphones.

If using these with a tv, can the user control his volume and others hear and control their volume from the tv?

My husband always has the tv on so loud! I'm looking for a headset for him that he can control and I can still hear the tv at a normal level. Please tell me there is something out there!
You would need a blue-tooth transmitter hooked up to TV for the volume control on headphones to work, Miccus Home RTX is a receiver and transmitter available. The phones used with cable attached don't allow volume control use.

Bass

do the sony mdr-1rbt have head rattling bass like the sony plse elite, and would they work well for bass heavy dubstep
They are clear and faithful to original recording. If recorded with lots of bass, it will be the same.
