This speaker has a deep, full sound and others can't compare. You have to use your phone to connect using bluetooth but what set this apart for me from the other speakers I looked at is that you can leave the speaker plugged in, or bring it around on the go. The battery is able to save a charge which makes it great for all occasions. It's bigger than some other speakers in its price range but is surprisingly light weight and has an elegant design. I highly recommend it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

iphone
Can I use my iphone 6 with this speaker? Would it be good for a dorm room?
Unless Mac lost its mind and got rid of blue tooth for their iphones, it should work perfectly. I connect to my speaker using my iphone and I live in an apartment on campus, so it would be great for a dorm room. As long as you trust your roommates that is. Since it's not very heavy it would be easy to snag but if you love listening to music with your roommates, it's great for that and would be a great purchase.

Can the volume be controlled from the blue tooth device?
Yes. The volume can be controlled on the speaker AND on your phone/blue tooth device. I have my speaker set up in the corner of the room so I use my phone to control the volume when I listen to music.

Will I need 2 units for a rich stereo sound?
No. One unit by itself is incredibly loud, especially compared to others on the market in this price range, so unless you're putting the speaker into a VERY large room, one speaker should carry throughout your house.
