How much electricity does this use?

I was told that since this uses power lines, it will add electricity costs and I'd like to know if that's true, and if so, how much.

Thanks.
This device does have a sleep mode. When not in use is uses VERY minimal power. Much less than the cell phone adapter that you leave plugged in and not charging your phone.
