How to do this?

i want to access movies on my computer hard drive and view them on my tv. Is this possible and what kind of hardware do i need? I already have a wireless router and also a Roku module.

The easiest way is via HDMI cable. I keep an extra attached to my TV hidden behind in the mount and attach when there is something solely on my laptop that I want to watch.

Audio output from Toshiba 42" Regza does not mute going thru my aux tuner

I have a sony tuner that with my older Toshiba 40" hooked up to Comcast was able to mute the entire sound even the audio output. But now with my new Toshiba Regza 46" it will only mute the TV and my sony tuner still is able to be heard. what is up?

Do I need a magic button for this to work!

You most likely have your multifunction remote set to the volume control being the tv. The mute function being a product of the volume it would control it on the TV.

Not unless you ran it through an android device with the ability to screen mirror.

Direct tv with genie

I have direct tv with genie device ... I have 4 TV's in house with wireless genie's for each tv..... Do I need chrome cast media device for each tv or can I use main genie and broadcast to individual TV's

You must have a chromecast on the TV you want to use.

Why am I getting a green screen when streaming movies online?

Hi there, I recently just purchased Chromecast so I can stream movies on my laptop and watch it on my TV. I have a Macbook and a Samsung TV. Whenever I try to use Chromecast to watch a streaming movie or a movie I already have on my laptop, the TV screen is green and fuzzy. Can you please help? I have no problem playing youtube videos or playing anything via my iPhone.

Chromecast is not designed to play anything from your laptop. There is a beta Tab Cast add on you can use with chrome on your laptop but you can't play a video saved on your laptop on your screen via chromecast. Not its purpose.
