I've had the kraken pro gaming headset for 3 years now and have had a great experience using them. They have a great bass response for the games that it's good for, otherwise for music listening they fall short. The build quality of the kraken could be better. I've had gone through 3 pairs in about 4 years and I take good care of my equipment. It could be my head shape but the plastic the holds the drivers to the headband likes to break from normal wear and tear. I recommend getting a 2 year warranty from Best Buy when buying these your going to need it. Onto the microphone, the microphone is decent if you use a VoIP or game programs like mumble™ or Teamspeak3™ I come in loud and clear. The headset has some sound bleed through the microphone if you use it at 90-100% volume, I recommend dropping the volume to 35 or 75 so to not hurt your hearing with the amount of mid and high end sound waves these push out so you'll be sure to not have any bleed over from the drivers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is it USB or headphone Jack or both?
For the razer kraken pro it is an analog connection that uses a splitter that hooks into two 3.5mm headphone jacks, one for sound and one for microphone. There is a kraken 7.1 and kraken USB that use a USB connector for a digital microphone and virtual surrounded sound for a more expensive price.
